  • Roll out the pizza dough to a 12-inch circle, about 1/4 inch thick.
  • Transfer the dough to a lightly floured pizza peel or a sheet pan.
  • Spread the San Marzano tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a 1/2-inch border.
  • Slice the fresh mozzarella cheese into thin rounds and place on top of the sauce.
  • Drizzle the extra-virgin olive oil over the pizza.
  • Season with salt to taste.
  • Bake the pizza for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  • Remove the pizza from the oven and top with fresh basil leaves.
  • Let the pizza rest for 2-3 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Tips:
  • Use high-quality ingredients, such as San Marzano tomatoes and fresh mozzarella cheese.
  • Keep the toppings simple to allow each ingredient to shine.
  • Cook the pizza at high temperature for a short time to achieve a crispy crust.
Authenticity Note:
Traditional Neapolitan pizza is cooked in a wood-fired oven at extremely high temperatures. If you don’t have access to a wood-fired oven, a domestic oven with a pizza stone will still yield delicious results.
Convenience Note:
Flora Fine Foods also offers a premade Restaurant-Style Pizza Sauce, made with high-quality ingredients, and crafted to deliver an authentic flavor profile.
